Guru mantra


ध्यानमूलं गुरुर्मूर्तिः
पूजामूलं गुरुर्पदम् ।
मन्त्रमूलं गुरुर्वाक्यं
मोक्षमूलं गुरूर्कृपा ॥

ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥

oṃ
Dhyāna mülam gurur murti
Püjā mülam gurur padam |
Mantra mülam gurur vākyam
Moksha mülam gurur kripā ||

oṃ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ

Meaning : The Root of Meditation is the Form of the Guru. The Root of Worship is the Feet of the Guru. The Root of Mantra is the Word of the Guru. The Root of Liberation is the Grace of the Guru.

Sūryanamaskāra mantra


हिरण्मयेन पात्रेण
सत्यस्यापिहितं मुखम्‌।
तत् त्वं पूषन्नपावृणु
सत्यधर्माय दृष्टये ॥

ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥

oṃ
Hiraṇmayena pātreṇa satyasyāpihitaṁ mukham |
tat tvaṁ pūṣannapāvṛṇu satyadharmāya dṛṣṭaye ||

oṃ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ
(Isa Upa: 15)

Meaning : Like a lid to a vessel, O Sun! your golden orb covers the entrane to the Truth. Kindly open the same and lead us to the truth.

Prānāyāma mantra


प्राणस्येदं वशे सर्वं
त्रिदिवे यत्‌ प्रतिष्ठितम्‌।
मातेव पुत्रान्‌ रक्षस्व
श्रीश्च प्रज्ञां च विधेहि न इति ॥ 

ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥

oṃ
Prāṇasyedaṁ vaśe sarvaṁ 
tridive yat pratiṣṭhitam |
māteva putrān rakṣasva 
śrīśca prajñāṁ ca vidhehi na iti ||

oṃ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ
(Prasna Upa: 2.13)

Meaning : Whatever exists in three worlds, Is all under the control of Prana. Hey Prana,

Please protect us as a mother protects her sons and give us affluence and intelligence

Mahāmṛtyuñjaya mantra


त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे
सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्
मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ॥

॥ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥

oṃ
tryambakaṃ yajāmahe
sugandhiṃ puṣṭivardhanam।
urvārukamiva bandhanān
mṛtyormukṣīya māmṛtāt ॥

oṃ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ
(Rigveda – 7.59.12)

Meaning : Om, Salutations to the three eyed lord Shiva for increasing the vitality and fragrance. May he release us from the bondage of death as effortlessly as a ripe cucumber falls out of its creeper.
